AWS Cyber Cloud Computing Engineer

Position Overview

SAIC is hiring an AWS Cyber Cloud Computing Engineer to support the Cloud One program under the Air Force Lifecycle Management Center Office for Network Integration (AFLCMC/HNI). Cloud One is a global, virtualized IT infrastructure supporting mission systems and applications for the U.S. Air Force (USAF) and U.S. Army (USA). This role primarily involves working with impact level 6 (IL6) information and is located near Hanscom Air Force Base, Massachusetts, Charleston, SC, or Gunter Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama. Other locations with access to an IL6 facility may be acceptable.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, configure, deploy, maintain, and upgrade COTS/GOTS and custom toolsets to address vulnerabilities and implement security controls.
• Apply expert engineering knowledge to ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture security policies and support full-spectrum military cyberspace operations.
• Design, test, and implement secure operating systems, networks, and security tools, including incident response, digital forensics, and security monitoring.
• Evaluate and introduce new cybersecurity tools and products to align with IT security strategies.
• Enhance the security posture of Cloud One environments through comprehensive transformation.
• Develop innovative technical solutions for complex problems requiring creativity and ingenuity.
• Work directly with the AWS IL6 Operations and Support team to maintain Cloud One’s security.

Specific Duties

• Perform scans using ACAS or similar tools and remediate findings using Infrastructure as Code (IAC).
• Interface with cybersecurity stakeholders during integrated product team meetings and working groups.
• Support security assessments, reviews, and exercises to address identified issues.
• Implement DISA STIG, SRGs, and best practices, providing automated application and verification.
• Configure and implement AWS cloud-native security tools and provide timely remediation for audit findings.
• Review and update Risk Management Framework (RMF) artifacts and support code review security vulnerability remediation.

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience. Additional years of experience may substitute for a degree.

Clearance and Certifications

• Active Secret Clearance and U.S. citizenship.
• Security+ certification.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of DoD policies, including DoD 8500.01 and DoD 8510.01.
• Compliance with DoD and USAF training requirements (DoDD 8140, AFMAN 17-1303).
• Experience with RMF and compliance verification methods (DISA STIG, SRGs, best practices).
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and tools like ACAS, STIG Viewer, and Endpoint Security.
• Proficiency in AWS cloud environments, Ansible, and Linux systems.

Soft Skills

• Strong communication and collaboration skills with a focus on secure and efficient solutions.

Desired Qualifications

• Knowledge of DESMF.
• Cybersecurity certifications like CISSP or CompTIA CASP.
• Experience with Agile, Scrum, or SAFe methodologies.
• Previous experience supporting USAF or USA software development projects.
