Lonza AG is offering an outstanding opportunity for an EM/Micro Scientist in New Hampshire, USA! This role is crafted for an ambitious individual who is ready to tackle significant challenges, impacting future concepts, products, and technologies within the Quality Control department. As a Subject Matter Expert, you will be a recognized leader, actively supporting technology transfer, validation, deviation support, and investigation projects, while closely collaborating with customers and project teams.

Key responsibilities:

  • Direct all technical transfer projects within your area of responsibility, ensuring flawless and timely completion.
  • Write and review documentation for transfers, validations, deviations, investigations, and facility support. Perform assay work and guide others in these areas.
  • Represent QC and Lonza in customer meetings, successfully implement decisions, and address technical and business requirements.
  • Ensure the success of methods post technical transfer, including training personnel, reviewing data, and completing necessary documentation.
  • Develop meaningful metrics to gauge efficiency, performance, and other relevant measurements, and report them to management. Identify, foster, and motivate others to achieve department objectives by overcoming obstacles when necessary.
  • Develop the technical, GMP, and leadership skills of QC personnel through hands-on training opportunities and act as a mentor to junior staff within the QC organization.
  • If managing direct reports, complete performance reviews, hold routine 1:1 meeting, plan and assign work, manage hiring, pay increases, performance management, and disciplinary issues, ensuring timely completion of work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Key requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology, Biochemistry, or an equivalent science field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proven ability to understand and explain corporate strategy to peers and team members.
  • Provide feedback to managers on strategy content and implementation.
  • Set and deliver on individual and team objectives that align with company strategy.
  • Apply knowledge of the business area to make timely and accurate decisions.
  • Actively seek to understand the needs of both internal and external customers and the market, developing insights to improve customer happiness.
  • Identify and address situations where company and customer interests may not align.
  • Professionally and effectively manage relationships with both internal and external customers, continuously improving by tracking and analyzing important data.
