Job Description:

SAIC is seeking a talented Ground Segment Systems Engineer to support the U.S. Space Force (USSF) in developing, deploying, and sustaining a National Security Space system. This role will provide critical systems engineering support within the Space Systems Command Space Domain Awareness and Combat Power (SSC/SZ) system program office.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Systems Engineering & Development:

    • Lead efforts in systems architecting, including requirements definition, design, interface management, data architecture, integration, and performance analysis.
    • Translate product requirements into comprehensive system solutions within technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  2. Ground Segment Management:

    • Oversee technical and interface requirements for the ground segment.
    • Coordinate and negotiate interfaces with external stakeholders while ensuring thorough verification.
  3. Documentation & Testing:

    • Develop and refine system engineering documents such as CONOPs, system testing protocols, algorithm reviews, and application interfaces.
    • Contribute to requirements definition and system testing strategies.
  4. Program & Acquisition Support:

    • Assist in crafting acquisition strategies and identifying program execution challenges.
    • Provide actionable recommendations for improving program delivery.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a relevant discipline (or equivalent experience: 4 additional years in lieu of degree).
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience in technical program management, systems engineering, or government acquisitions.

Security Clearance:

  • Active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Programs (SAP).
  • Willingness to consent to a polygraph examination.

Technical Expertise:

  • Proficient in Space Systems Engineering, Design, and Architecture Development.
  • Experience in the Space Control mission area and software systems engineering.

Target Salary Range:

$120,001 - $160,000 (dependent on experience and qualifications).
