ADC Windows Client Engineer

As a member of the AWS UC team, you’ll be involved in developing and managing core AWS services such as Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (IoT), Platform, and Productivity Apps. In this role, you'll support the Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) division, working with customers requiring specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

We're looking for an experienced Windows Client Systems Engineer to join our team. In this hands-on role, you’ll maintain and enhance existing services, including managing Windows build and deployment, application packaging, and break/fix scenarios. Additionally, you’ll work closely with the Security Compliance team to ensure the security and compliance of all desktop environments.

As an engineer on the team, you must embrace the fast-paced innovations in technology and continuously improve our products. You’ll drive the design and implementation of new services, automate existing processes, and mentor junior team members.

This role will be based at Amazon's HQ2 in Arlington, VA, where Amazon is investing $2.5 billion into energy-efficient office space and creating at least 25,000 new full-time jobs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide first-line support to the IT Service Desk team.
• Maintain Desktop OS Images and VDI templates.
• Manage client patching and enforce security compliance for OS and desktop applications.
• Monitor and manage desktop metrics and related services.
• Update system documentation for engineering, operations, and support teams.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate’s Degree or certifications such as:
  • Cloud+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP
• 5+ years of experience supporting the Windows family of operating systems, including knowledge in at least four of the following:
  • AD, DHCP, PowerShell, Email Workflow, SCCM, SCOM, Windows OS, DNS, Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity
• Knowledge of basic networking and troubleshooting.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting in a Windows environment.
• Experience administering Active Directory based networks.
• Current TS/SCI security clearance with Polygraph.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 8+ years of experience supporting Windows OS, including expertise in four of the core competencies listed above.
• Experience creating technical documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures, Run-books, and Job Sheets.
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a computer-related field.
• Cloud+, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP certification preferred.
• Proficiency with PowerShell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or Java.
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation: The base salary for this position ranges from $105,200/year in our lowest geographic market to $188,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on various factors, including location, experience, and job-related skills. Amazon also offers equity, sign-on payments, and a comprehensive benefits package.
