About the Role

Join Deloitte's Government and Public Services (GPS) practice as an AI Software Engineer, driving transformative technology solutions for federal, state, and local government clients. Work You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with full-stack engineers to design and develop AI-driven applications for public sector clients.
  • Implement solutions integrating LLMs (Large Language Models), Generative AI, and text vectorization/embedding.
  • Design and engineer application software using frameworks like Spring, JQuery, and web/application servers (Apache, Tomcat, JBoss, WebLogic).
  • Contribute to sprints, achieving goals alongside a team of world-class backend engineers.
  • Deliver innovative solutions aligned with Deloitte’s strategic vision for the public sector.

The Team

Deloitte’s GPS AI & Data Engineering team focuses on developing advanced analytics products that empower government and public sector organizations to anticipate disruptions and deliver impactful outcomes. From data collection and ETL to deploying machine learning models and AI-driven insights, our team brings expertise and fresh perspectives to mission-critical challenges.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in front-end React development.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated backend expertise using Postgres.
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance.
  • Must be located or willing to relocate to the Greater Tampa, FL area.
  • Ability to work onsite in Tampa, FL.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with tools and technologies like:
    • Docker, Git, Graph DB, Neo4j, Memgraph, OpenSearch, ElasticSearch, and MongoDB.
    • Python and cyber-based coding frameworks.
    • Datastacks and other scalable database solutions.
  • Proven ability to implement wireframes with flexible, well-structured code.
  • Creativity and eagerness to explore and learn new technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of coding best practices and ability to mentor peers through code reviews.
  • Experience collaborating with distributed teams.
  • Familiarity with Git or similar version control tools.
