Position Overview

The Supervisory Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing a team to ensure effective logistics operations in areas such as facility management, property maintenance, supply programs, and transportation. The role includes conducting reviews, providing technical guidance, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of GS and wage grade employees, managing tasks related to USACE-owned/leased facilities, property maintenance, supply programs, and transportation operations.
  • Conduct staff and customer assistance visits to field activities to provide technical guidance and assess program execution.
  • Develop and recommend budgetary allocations for the District Logistics Office and reallocate funds as necessary to meet mission needs.
  • Implement plans, procedures, and regulations for efficient logistics operations in office environments.
  • Oversee real property management programs, excluding civil works-specific properties like locks, dams, and power plants.
  • Mentor and coach staff, address complaints, resolve issues, and apply minor disciplinary measures as needed.
  • Perform internal management control reviews and QA assessments to ensure compliance and effective management of logistics assets.

Conditions of Employment

  • Appointment may require a completed background investigation and suitability determination.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Completion of CES Foundation Course and Supervisory Development Course is required within 12 months of hire.
  • Designated as Mission Essential; availability required during emergencies, holidays, or extended security periods.
  • May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Eligible applicants include:

  • Current Department of Army Civilian Employees
  • Military Spouses under Executive Order (E.O.) 13473
  • Veterans under the Veterans Employment Opportunity Act (VEOA)
  • Other specified federal hiring authorities (e.g., Priority Placement Programs, Land Management Workforce Flexibility Act).

Specialized Experience

  • One year of experience at the GS-11 level or equivalent, involving:
  • Technical guidance in logistics management (e.g., supply, property maintenance, transportation, facility operations).
  • Resource allocation for logistics programs.
  • Budget preparation for logistical requirements.

Additional Requirements:

  • Time in grade: 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade (GS-11).
