Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the execution of DoD contract audit work for assigned Field Audit Offices (FAOs), providing accounting and financial advisory services.
  • Develop and implement long-range strategies and prepare annual audit requirement plans for FAOs.
  • Lead, direct, and allocate resources to FAO managers to ensure effective audit execution and adherence to policies and objectives.
  • Promote teamwork, innovation, and quality management, fostering relationships with contractors and government officials.
  • Implement career development programs, evaluate performance, address deficiencies, and oversee employee recognition initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with agency goals, audit policies, and procedural standards.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Selective Service: Males born after 12/31/1959 must register or be exempt.
  • Security Clearance: Obtain and maintain Top-Secret clearance.
  • Drug Testing: Subject to random drug testing.
  • Probationary Periods: Initial and supervisory/managerial probationary periods may apply.
  • Mobility Agreement: May require reassignment every seven years.
  • Financial Disclosure: Completion of OGE Form 450 is mandatory.
  • FM Certification: Must meet DoD Financial Management Certification requirements.
  • Telework & PCS: Telework may be available; PCS relocation expenses offered based on agency needs.

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field (e.g., business, finance) with 24 semester hours in accounting/auditing.
    OR
  • A combination of experience, education, and training equivalent to a degree, with certification as a CPA or CIA.

Specialized Experience:

  • One year at GS-14 level with expertise in managing audit teams, approving reports, developing audit policies, and ensuring compliance with audit standards.

Volunteer experience, whether paid or unpaid, will be credited if relevant.
