AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for designing, planning, delivering, and operating all global AWS infrastructure. We support AWS data centers and the associated servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to ensure continual access to innovation. Our team tackles the most complex challenges, addressing thousands of variables that impact the supply chain. We're seeking talented individuals to join us in maintaining AWS's global infrastructure.

As part of our team, you will collaborate with software, hardware, network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers to deliver the highest standards for safety and security, ensuring seamless capacity at the lowest cost. You will be immersed in an inclusive culture where bold ideas are encouraged and ownership is supported.

The Role:The Decommissioning Technical team processes legacy data center equipment and ensures customer media is sanitized and managed according to strict protocols. Proper accountability of equipment throughout the process is critical. As an Entry-Level team member, you must be self-motivated and able to execute repetitive tasks with consistency and attention to detail. You will work in a team environment, interacting with other team members and departments to ensure smooth processes.

AWS places a high value on protecting customer data, so adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and performing tasks without deviation is essential. This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of technical issues and engage other teams to resolve them
  • Demonstrate a strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • Solve issues at their root cause and understand the broader context
  • Lift up to 40 lbs. and work in confined or elevated spaces
  • Maintain service level agreements through proactive issue detection
  • Act with initiative and improve processes for greater efficiency

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or A+ or CND, Network+, or Security+ certifications
  • 1+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience
  • Active U.S. Government Security Clearance (TS/SCI with Polygraph)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1+ years of data center experience and knowledge of cloud computing technologies
  • Experience in decommissioning and processing legacy hardware
  • Experience in tracking, labeling, and installing/removing IT parts
  • Basic networking skills, including hardware installation/removal and configuration clearing
  • Familiarity with PC components and hardware (e.g., HDD/SSD, RAM, CPU, I/O devices)
  • Previous IT equipment handling experience (racking/stacking, cable management, troubleshooting PCs)

Compensation:&nbspBase salary ranges from $55,100 to $123,300 per year, depending on the geographic location. Amazon offers a total compensation package, including equity, sign-on payments, and a comprehensive benefits package.
