Software Senior Engineer (C, Linux, Kernel, Distributed systems)

What you'll achieve

As a Software Engineer in the FileSystems and DataServices team, you will have the opportunity to use your expertise to work on innovative solutions. You will constantly be challenged in developing and improving new and current technologies with the support of your team behind you as we re-architecture OneFS to deliver value for our customers in this evolving GenAI era.

You will:
  • Design, develop and deliver solutions to distributed computing problems for scale-out OneFS filesystem and data services
  • Develop features for OneFS to address scale, performance, and GenAI readiness of PowerScale
  • Collaborate within and outside of your scrum team during the entire software development cycle to ensure we leverage common components, build optimized solutions with highest quality

Essential Requirements
  • Excellent knowledge of developing system software using C and C++
  • Solid understanding of Data Structures, algorithms, locking, design patterns, memory management, concurrency models, multithreading, parallel programming and asynchronous concepts
  • Knowledge of distributed software systems, operating systems, file systems or embedded software
  • Knowledge of storage networking protocols, connectivity, and architectures
  • BS in Computer Science or related technical field with experience in UNIX/Linux/ POSIX based systems software development.
Desirable Requirements
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary range for this position: $151,000-196,000.
