Overview:

The AWS Intelligence Initiative invites motivated, security-cleared professionals to join an immersive training and development program, equipping participants with technical expertise and operational excellence. Builders in this program gain hands-on experience with AWS services, mentorship from industry leaders, and a robust understanding of cloud technologies.

Graduates transition into engineering roles within the Region Reliability organization, a group dedicated to improving AWS operational practices, driving automation, and ensuring superior performance in support of Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) Regions. This role offers the opportunity to operate and innovate at scale, enabling the U.S. Intelligence Community through cutting-edge technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Execution:
    • Perform and refine a defined set of operational tasks within established timelines.
    • Learn and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for technical implementations.
    • Leverage runbooks and tooling to resolve straightforward blockers.
  • Problem Solving & Process Improvement:
    • Identify and escalate operational risks and inefficiencies.
    • Collaborate with senior engineers to resolve complex technical issues.
    • Provide feedback to optimize workflow and tooling.
  • Skill Development:
    • Build foundational knowledge in Linux, networking, and cloud services.
    • Gain exposure to AWS service intercommunication and troubleshooting.
    • Learn to identify root causes and propose resolutions for operational challenges.
  • Collaboration:
    • Partner with engineers globally to deploy, configure, and troubleshoot 150+ AWS services.
    • Contribute creative ideas to enhance team processes and outcomes.

A Day in the Life:

As an ADCE Associate, you’ll support mission-critical workloads in an RMF five days a week. Your focus will be executing assigned tasks, learning operational workflows, and developing strong troubleshooting skills. Collaborating with experienced engineers, you’ll gain insights into AWS service operations, enhance your technical expertise, and contribute to improving AWS infrastructure reliability and performance.

The AWS Intelligence Initiative is part of AWS Utility Computing, the foundation of Amazon's cloud platform. Utility Computing supports groundbreaking services like S3 and EC2 while continuously innovating across IoT, database, and productivity applications.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • 1+ year of work requiring a security clearance.
    • Troubleshooting and debugging technical systems.
  • Security Clearance:
    • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Operational Excellence tools and techniques.
  • Aptitude for computer engineering and cloud technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to learn new technical skills and troubleshoot effectively.
  • Experience managing and delivering operational improvement projects.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base Salary Range: $62,200 - $139,000 annually (dependent on location and experience).
  • Total Compensation: Equity, sign-on bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical and financial plans.
