Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and reconcile financial accounts and data, ensuring compliance with accounting systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide technical support for cash transactions, including disbursements, deposits, and cash accountability methods.
  • Analyze and verify financial documents related to contracts, reimbursements, and travel expenses.
  • Maintain financial records, compile funding data, and assist with budget administration.
  • Conduct semi-independent reconciliations and adjustments using financial systems like STARs or similar.
  • Support data analysis and troubleshooting within multiple accounting platforms.

Requirements:

  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Eligibility for federal employment.
  • Enrollment in the direct deposit pay program.
  • Ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
  • Obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Compliance with DoD’s Financial Management Level I certification requirements.
  • Registration with Selective Service (for males born after 12-31-59).

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of DTS, GTC, FASTDATA, or Budget Builder.
  • Familiarity with procurement or supply processes within federal organizations.

Qualifications:

  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-5 in accounting, budgeting, or financial management.
  • Proficiency in automated accounting systems with a proven ability to adapt to new systems independently.
  • Strong analytical and customer service skills, with experience meeting tight deadlines.
