Position Overview

SAIC is seeking an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to support all aspects of the company’s Information Protection Program at our El Segundo, CA location. The ISSO will work closely with the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) to provide oversight, guidance, and technical support on IT and information system security issues. This role ensures compliance with security regulations, policies, and best practices to protect critical systems and information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the government customer in resolving outstanding items to deliver a fully operational and compliant facility.
  • Maintain an operational security posture for various programs and information systems.
  • Serve as the primary Information Security interface with government customer Designated Accrediting Authorities across the DoD and Intelligence Communities.
  • Conduct vulnerability and risk assessment analysis to support system authorization and accreditation.
  • Prepare and review key security documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports, Authorization To Operate (ATO) packages, and Security Controls Traceability Matrices (SCTMs).
  • Perform periodic evaluations of IS policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Support Information Systems Security inspections, testing, and reviews.

Required Qualifications

  • Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of related experience.
    • Four additional years of experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Security Clearance:

    • Active SSBI with TS/SCI eligibility.
    • Willingness to complete a polygraph.
  • Certifications:

    • Valid Security+ CE certification.
    • Must meet DoD Directive 8570.01-M requirements for Information Assurance Technical Level 2.
  • Technical Expertise:

    • Familiarity with Program Security responsibilities, including OPSEC, Program Protection, Personnel Security, Security Training, and Classification Management.
    • Experience working in SAP environments.
    • Proficiency in controlling, labeling, virus scanning, and transferring data between systems of varying classification levels.
    • Knowledge of security frameworks, such as JSIG, ICD 503, NIST Special Publications, and DoD Issuances.

  • Strong understanding of government security regulations and best practices.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent documentation and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with stakeholders in classified environments.

Compensation

  • Target Salary Range: $120,001 - $160,000 (based on experience and qualifications).

Additional Information

  • COVID-19 Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. However, customer site vaccination requirements must be followed.
