Overview:

Project Kuiper is revolutionizing global broadband connectivity through a constellation of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites. Kuiper Government Solutions (KGS) extends this mission, delivering high-speed, low-latency, secure satellite broadband to U.S. and allied government customers, including NASA, DoD, and National Security agencies.

We are seeking a Sr. Technical Program Manager to support KGS’s initiatives. In this role, you’ll collaborate with engineering teams, subcontractors, and government partners to drive the development of government-focused satellite systems. With strong project management expertise, you’ll track priorities, manage critical paths, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions tailored to government specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Leadership:
    • Define and drive improvements in Kuiper’s government communication systems.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for external teams, partners, and subcontractors, mitigating risks and aligning goals.
  • Communication:
    • Clearly communicate plans, status, and critical issues to executive management.
    • Escalate urgent matters and ensure timely resolution.
  • Project Management:
    • Develop and track project schedules, milestones, and dependencies.
    • Document trade studies and coordinate stakeholder reviews for buy-in.
    • Organize and lead project meetings, capturing notes, assigning actions, and ensuring follow-through.
  • Engineering Support:
    • Drive execution of engineering projects, manage technical trade-offs, and resolve blockers.
    • Develop work packages in partnership with government agencies to empower technical teams.
  • Metrics & Goals:
    • Establish KPIs to measure performance against cost, schedule, and technical requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience:
    • 8+ years of experience working with engineering teams.
    • 8+ years of technical product or program management experience.
    • Proven ability to manage cross-functional programs, build processes, and coordinate release schedules.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • 8+ years managing scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and critical path.
    • Strong background in aerospace, satellite, and ground-based system development.
    • Familiarity with deployed satellite telecommunications services and government contracts.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in defining and tracking KPIs/SLAs to drive multi-million-dollar initiatives.
    • Expertise in coordinating across teams and reporting to senior leadership.
