Position Overview

This role involves managing training programs and budgets for Army Reserve units, ensuring compliance with Army training standards, and coordinating individual and unit training requirements through automated systems. The incumbent will conduct inspections, provide recommendations for training improvements, and serve as a key advisor for mobilization plans and directives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor unit and individual training requirements using the Army’s automated training systems.
  • Manage and maintain unit training budgets, ensuring authorized and efficient use of funds.
  • Submit training requests for staff via the Army Training Requirements and Resources System (ATRRS).
  • Review training records to recommend training opportunities for individuals and units.
  • Prepare instructions, reports, and briefings on the status and compliance of training programs.
  • Develop forecasts and provide input for long-term training plans.
  • Analyze regulations and reports to identify training needs and recommend program changes.
  • Review mobilization plans and directives from higher headquarters and monitor their implementation.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure training exercises comply with the Army Organizational Inspection Program.
  • Evaluate reports to ensure training program objectives are met and provide actionable feedback.

Conditions of Employment

  • Army Reserve Membership: Active membership in the U.S. Army Reserve (USAR) is mandatory.
  • Background Investigation: Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination based on a completed background investigation.
  • Selective Service Registration: Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must provide proof of registration or exemption.
  • Probationary Period: A one-year probationary period may be required.
