Aircraft Electrician

Duties:

• Electrical System Repair and Maintenance: Analyze work orders for the manufacture or repair of aircraft electrical systems, and perform tasks like disassembly, modification, assembly, installation, testing, and maintenance of aircraft electrical systems.
• Planning and Sequencing Work: You will plan the sequence of work to disassemble, repair, assemble, install, and test electrical cables, equipment, and accessories for aircraft.
• Circuit Analysis: Analyze circuits from system integration schematics and wiring or logic diagrams to support repairs.
• Other Tasks: You may be assigned other duties as required, with the expectation of regular and predictable attendance.

Conditions of Employment:

• Citizenship and Employment Eligibility: U.S. citizenship and suitability for federal employment are required.
• Security Clearance: You must obtain and maintain an interim or final security clearance before starting.
• Physical and Drug Test: A pre-appointment physical examination and a drug test (including marijuana) are required. Random drug testing will occur once employed.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): The role requires wearing PPE (e.g., helmets, gloves, safety shoes) during work shifts.

• Screen-Out Element (Critical Ability): The primary requirement is the ability to perform complex tasks as an Aircraft Electrician with minimal supervision. This includes:

  • Disassembling, repairing, modifying, assembling, and maintaining aircraft electrical systems.
  • Working with tools such as wire strippers, soldering irons, and heat guns.
  • Reading and working from blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Conducting final functional checks on electrical systems.

• Experience: The job requires knowledge and skills acquired through experience and training. A specific number of years is not required, but you must demonstrate the ability to perform high-level electrical tasks related to aircraft systems.
