Job Overview

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an Engagement Manager to drive large-scale cloud transformation initiatives for U.S. Intelligence Community (USIC) customers. As an Engagement Manager, you will be responsible for understanding customers' needs, managing project delivery, and ensuring successful cloud adoption. This role requires a combination of technical, leadership, and project management skills to guide customers through their cloud journey, applying agile methodologies and AWS best practices.

You will lead cross-functional teams consisting of AWS employees, customer stakeholders, and external partners to develop, manage, and deliver solutions that help achieve mission objectives. With a deep understanding of AWS technologies, you will help customers align their business and technical requirements with cloud capabilities, ultimately transforming their operations and exceeding expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Collaboration: Work closely with U.S. Intelligence Community customers to understand their missions, goals, and project objectives. Define success metrics and deliver cloud solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Project Leadership: Lead and manage cross-functional teams using agile delivery methodologies, ensuring successful project delivery within scope, timeline, and budget.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Coordinate between AWS teams, customers, and partners to align project goals and objectives. Tailor communication for various stakeholders, including executive-level updates and detailed project plans.
  • Strategic Oversight: Anticipate and mitigate project risks, recommend solutions, and ensure that all project phases (from requirements gathering to delivery) are well-managed.
  • Business Partnership: Act as a strategic partner, guiding customers to achieve their mission outcomes while driving cloud adoption and innovation.
  • Project Management: Oversee project governance, schedules, budgets, and resource management using project management tools (e.g., Confluence, Jira).
  • Client Engagement: Provide leadership to manage client expectations, resolve issues, and ensure the successful execution of the project plan.
  • Feedback Integration: Collect and share customer feedback with AWS service teams to continuously improve products and services.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in customer-facing, large-scale implementation consulting, managing cross-functional teams.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with enterprise-level IT projects, including 3+ years using Agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Confluence, Jira, RallyDev).
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting National Security mission systems.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, CSM, PMI-ACP, PRINCE2).
  • Experience with cloud technologies and AWS products (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
  • Proven ability to manage large projects (e.g., 10+ resources, 6+ months, $250k+ in contract value).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present to C-level executives and technical teams.
  • Understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and U.S. Government contracting.
  • 5+ years of experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile project management.
  • AWS Certifications (preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project scope, timeline, and budget effectively.
