Job Description:

The U.S. Amazon Dedicated Cloud Information Security teamis seeking an experiencedSenior Security Engineerwith a strong background in control testing, investigation, and development. In this role, you will lead security reviews, facilitate code reviews, and build/enhance cloud architectures that support security programs. This may involve writing code/scripts and creating detection mechanisms. As a Senior Security Engineer, you will influence the business and technology direction of the team, impacting both direct and partner teams, as well as stakeholders.

You will define and apply engineering, test, and operational excellence standards for the team. This is a hands-on role with responsibilities ranging from facilitating logistics for security reviews to performing threat modeling, configuring test environments, guiding test personnel, and addressing complex technical questions around cryptography, access, and threats/mitigations. Your daily activities will help deliver timely results that inspire the team and delight customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Security Engineering Solutions:Provide security engineering solutions during customer-facing engagements, addressing customer needs and reducing risks.
  • Mentoring:Mentor Information Security engineers to improve security practices, reduce risks, and address security challenges quickly.
  • Driving DevOps Culture:Instill a culture of high-quality standards in code reviews, drive automation, and remove barriers to empower your team.
  • Architecture Design:Translate complex functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture and design.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ yearsof experience insystem, network, and/or application security.
  • 5+ yearsof programming experience with at least one modern language such asC++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, Rust, Ruby.
  • 5+ yearsof professional software development experience (non-internship).
  • Experience leading thedesign, build, and deploymentof complex, reliable, and scalable software solutions in production.
  • Bachelor degreein engineering or computer science, or equivalent work experience.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong Communication Skills:Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt messages for executive, technical, and non-technical audiences.
  • Software Development Deployment:Deep understanding of software development practices such as feature branch management, continuous integration, continuous delivery, software observability, and metering.
  • Secure Application Development:Experience with static and dynamic application security testing, vulnerability scanning, and mitigation.
  • AWS Experience:Familiarity with AWS services and cloud security best practices.
  • Vulnerability Management:Experience in vulnerability management or security operations.
  • System Interfaces:Familiarity with gRPC, REST, SQL, and database replication.
  • High Availability Disaster Recovery:Understanding of high availability, disaster recovery, and failover processes.

Additional Information:

  • US Citizenshipandactive TS/SCI security clearance with polygraphare required.
