Software Engineer Job Category: Engineering Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Secret Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: Up to 10% Type of Travel: Continental US * * * CACI is seeking a motivated Software Engineer to to join our growing program comprised of multiple agile development teams supporting a test and integration effort. You will work together with end users, stakeholders, and your teammates in a fast-paced environment creating mission critical software applications with technical expertise directly supporting Software Engineering requirements for various platforms. This position reports on-site in Huntsville, AL. Our Software Engineer will analyze and develop software components for use in various applications and environments. Responsible for designing, developing, operating and maintaining software, firmware components, or computing systems software to be applied to and integrated with solutions or products that also encompass non-information technology related engineering or scientific disciplines. Responsibilities: * Evaluate existing software components against customer requirements to identify areas of compliance and capability gaps
* Collaborate with a small team of developers and systems engineers to design/architect, plan, and estimate follow-on development efforts
* Design, develop and maintain full stack, web-based capabilities/applications
* Design, develop and maintain micro-services interacting with a large database
* Configure, deploy, and maintain large data stores
* Mentor and review the work of lower level engineers
* Derive requirements through interactions with customers/users deploy and maintain applications
* Software deployment
* Configuration management Required Qualifications: * An active Secret clearance
* Excellent communication skills
* Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Engineering - Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Software, Math, Physics) from an accredited University
* Minimum 5 years of experience working in one or more of the following areas, with preference towards candidates whose work experience includes DoD projects:
* Experience developing software for complex software systems or embedded systems. Preference towards those with experience working with virtualized or containerized software systems for embedded system applications.
* Experience deploying software updates to systems and troubleshooting issues encountered during build checkouts.
* Experience with C/C++, Python
* Integration or Testing experience with a preference towards candidates with experience in automated/ scripted testing
* Experience developing requirements, documentation, and design
* Familiarity with standard DoD System Engineering Process and terms such as Interface Control Documents (ICDs), System Requirements Documents (SRD), Capability Development Documents (CDDs), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), Customer Acceptance Desired Qualifications: * Working in Agile and DevOps / DevSecOps processes
* Familiarity with micro-service architectures
* Familiarity with SQL, GitLab, PowerShell
* Working in DoD project environment
* Familiarity with development in Linux
