Position Overview:

Are you passionate about building and managing large-scale distributed systems? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment? AWS is seeking System Development Engineers to join our Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) team.

As part of AWS Utility Computing (UC), you will support the development and management of foundational services such as Amazon S3, EC2, and IoT, with a focus on delivering specialized security solutions for U.S. Government customers. You’ll work in a true DevOps role, tackling problems from start to finish and implementing real solutions for large-scale systems.

Our ADC team owns the scaling and management of AWS services like CodeDeploy, CodeBuild, and CodePipeline across regions supporting government customers. This role will expose you to a wide range of AWS services and technologies, offering unparalleled opportunities for growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deploy operational tools to automate processes and reduce overhead.
  • Build and manage massively scaled services in collaboration with other engineers.
  • Diagnose and resolve customer issues, ensuring service health and reliability.
  • Monitor service metrics, identify, and resolve system-level issues.
  • Collaborate with leading minds in distributed systems and cloud computing.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of professional software development experience (non-internship).
  • 1+ years of experience designing or architecting scalable, reliable systems.
  • Strong knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems).
  • Proficiency in programming with at least one modern language (e.g., Python, Java, Golang, Ruby, C++, C#).
  • Current, active TS/SCI security clearance with Full Scope Polygraph.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with distributed systems at scale.
  • Hands-on experience in Agile development environments, particularly Scrum.
  • Deep understanding of CI/CD principles and tools.
