Job Description:

KPMG is seeking a Senior Specialist to join its Federal Advisory practice as a Cloud Engineer. In this role, you will design and support modern cloud solutions, optimize cloud performance, and stay at the forefront of emerging cloud technologies. Your work will focus on architecture, performance monitoring, security, and cost-efficiency for federal clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Cloud Architecture & Design: Support the design of modern cloud solutions and create/maintain architecture diagrams for applications, infrastructure, and platforms.
  • Cloud Systems Monitoring: Monitor the performance and security of cloud systems, identify issues, and optimize systems for cost and efficiency.
  • Collaboration on Transformation Initiatives: Work with engagement delivery teams to set technology strategies for next-gen ecosystems, including open-source, APIs, micro-services, and web/data services.
  • Research & Emerging Technologies: Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and trends to ensure client solutions remain innovative and effective.
  • Process Flow Integration: Link client and user value chains, process flows, data schemas, integrations, and overall IT capabilities to cloud architecture.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • A minimum of 3 years of Cloud Engineering experience. U.S. Federal government consulting experience preferred.
    • Proficient in designing cloud architectures, implementing production infrastructure, and deploying applications in cloud environments.
  • Skills:
    • Scripting experience, especially with Unix/Linux environments.
    • Familiar with source code management systems like GIT and SVN.
    • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Ability to travel as needed to support firm engagements.
    • Must possess a U.S. Government Secret clearance.
