Duties:

  • Conduct inspections on electrical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical equipment issues and diagnose malfunctions.
  • Perform repairs on electrical equipment as needed.
  • Conduct final operational tests to ensure proper functionality.
  • Replace faulty electrical components.
  • Provide guidance on maintaining and operating electrical equipment.

Requirements:

  • Appointment may be contingent upon a background investigation to assess suitability or fitness.
  • Must be a member of the US Army Reserves (USAR).
  • Secret security clearance is required for this position.
  • A valid state driver's license is mandatory.
  • Pre-employment physical examination is required.

Qualifications: This position is part of a standing register (open continuous recruitment). The first evaluation of candidates will occur on 22 March 2024 at 11:59 PM. After this date, applications will be evaluated at future cutoff points based on the agency’s needs. Applications must be complete when referral certificates are issued. Final decisions will be made once all positions are filled or the announcement period ends.

  • Applicants must demonstrate sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position with minimal supervision. Applicants should have experience inspecting and repairing electronic equipment, diagnosing malfunctions, and using hand and power tools for repairs. Failure to meet the required qualifications will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Effort:

  • Frequent lifting or carrying of items up to 40 pounds, and occasionally items weighing over 50 pounds.
  • Regular standing, walking, bending, crouching, reaching, and stooping are required.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is primarily indoors in well-lit, heated, and ventilated areas. However, outdoor work may occasionally be required under good weather conditions.
  • There is potential exposure to cuts, bruises, burns from electrical shock, and other hazards associated with electrical work.

Additional Information:

  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Direct deposit for pay is required.
  • This position may involve a relocation, and Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs may be authorized.
