Job Overview:

SAIC's National Intelligence Community (NIC) business unit is looking for experienced Cloud Architects to join a new program providing System Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) services. The team will support cloud, cyber, AI/ML, and digital modernization programs by adopting and developing innovative IT solutions, transitioning legacy systems to modernized capabilities, and deploying them across various networks and environments at different classification levels. Staffing for this program will begin in January 2024.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cloud Architecture & Strategy:

    • Provide expert recommendations on cloud-based hybrid computing environments, supporting cloud adoption, migration, and governance strategies.
    • Assist in the transition of key legacy systems to modern cloud solutions and the reduction of technical debt.
  • Cloud Services Expertise:

    • Possess a deep understanding of commercially available cloud services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and emerging cloud technologies.
    • Help decompose large, monolithic applications into micro-service architectures suitable for cloud environments.
  • Application and Data Migration:

    • Advise on application and data migration strategies for seamless transition to cloud platforms.
    • Support customers in adopting commercial cloud best practices, including security controls, architecture, and design.
  • Security & Compliance:

    • Ensure alignment with NIST/FedRAMP security controls, and other federal requirements (AWS, Azure, or similar cloud solutions).
    • Stay up to date on industry standards and compliance requirements such as ISO 27001, NIST 800-53, PCI DSS, SOC2, and others.
  • Cloud Strategy Development:

    • Assist in developing cloud strategies to meet both immediate and long-term mission objectives.
    • Conduct detailed analyses to support the development of architectural mitigations for performance requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Security Clearance:
    • Active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance required.
  • Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (e.g., IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity) from an accredited institution, plus 15 years of IT experience, including 5 years in cloud environments.
    • Additional experience may be used to waive degree requirements.
    • Higher-level degrees may be substituted for experience.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or similar cloud environments.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud strategy development, solutions architecture, and cloud-based application migration.
  • Experience with NIST and FedRAMP security controls in cloud settings.
  • Ability to manage large-scale cloud transformation projects, including migration, optimization, and governance.

Target Salary Range:

$160,001 - $200,000 (based on experience and qualifications)
