The Opportunity:

CACI is looking for a Systems Engineer to join a leading team in undersea defense technology, contributing to groundbreaking systems engineering and program management for the Department of Defense.

Responsibilities:

  • Systems Engineering & Design: Apply knowledge of the system design process and principles of systems engineering to develop comprehensive, integrated solutions for undersea systems.
  • Acquisition Lifecycle Support: Provide expertise in the DoD acquisition lifecycle, including risk management, to identify and manage technical, cost, and schedule risks within projects.
  • Contracting & Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal acquisition regulations in contracting environments, overseeing contractor work to meet technical and contractual standards.
  • Collaborative Development: Work within a technical team of SMEs from the Naval Research and Development Enterprise(NR&DE), universities, and industry partners to achieve program goals.
  • Program & Process Management: Develop, execute, and adapt systems engineering and program management processes, guiding program execution from concept through sustainment.
  • Engineering Analysis & Design Assessment: Review analytical and experimental engineering designs, providing input to enhance undersea system integration, hydromechanics, and hydro-acoustics.
  • In-Service & Lifecycle Support: Assist in configuration management, logistics, training, and sustainment planning for long-term lifecycle support of undersea systems.
  • Production & Manufacturing Oversight: Apply general knowledge of production and assembly practices to manage integration and manufacturing processes.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage cross-functional engineering teams on technical studies and assessments, applying a total integrated system lifecycle perspective.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate complex engineering concepts and processes in written and oral forms for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications:

  • Required:
    • Bachelors Degree in mechanical, electrical, or related engineering field
    • 3+ years experience in engineering roles
    • Deep understanding of system design, systems engineering, and undersea systems design, including hydromechanics, hydro-acoustics, propulsors, and structures.
    • Familiarity with the DoD acquisition lifecycle and risk management processes.
    • General knowledge of federal acquisition regulations as applied to contracting and contractor management.
    • Experience working with a technical team of SMEs from government, academic, and industry sectors.
    • Knowledge of in-service engineering practices, including configuration management, logistics, and sustainment.
    • General knowledge of production, assembly, and integration processes.
    • Proven ability to lead and direct engineering teams in studies and assessments, integrating a complete system lifecycle approach.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET security clearance.
  • Desired:
    • Hands-on experience with undersea systems, especially unmanned vehicles or submarines, is a plus

Salary Range:

The proposed salary range for this position is: $72,200 - $147,900
