Position Summary
The U.S. Department of Defense is seeking a qualified IT Specialist to provide advanced technical support, network administration, and user assistance. This position serves as a pivotal resource for resolving complex IT system issues and ensuring secure and efficient technology operations.
Key Responsibilities
Network Administration
- Act as the primary network administrator for Local Area Networks (LAN).
- Monitor and manage network performance, ensuring uptime and reliability.
- Implement updates to hardware and software systems in compliance with security protocols.
Technical Support and Training
- Offer expert technical advice to users and management on IT systems, including hardware and software.
- Deliver training to staff on new systems and applications to enhance usability and efficiency.
System Diagnostics
- Troubleshoot and diagnose failures in IT systems, isolating and resolving issues across telecommunications, hardware, and software platforms.
Site Leadership
- Serve as the senior IT Specialist for a designated DCMA hub site, providing leadership and oversight for IT operations.
- Advise on IT system upgrades and enhancements to optimize performance and security.
End-User Assistance
- Address and resolve technical issues for a diverse range of users, ensuring seamless system functionality and user satisfaction.
Eligibility and Conditions
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
- Security Clearance: Must obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance.
- Drug Testing: Participation in the DoD drug testing program is required.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
Qualifications
Specialized Experience
Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02 or GS-11 level, demonstrating:
- Diagnosing and resolving issues related to operating systems, software, and network operations.
- Installing, maintaining, and upgrading IT systems, including hardware and software.
- Advising management on security measures to maintain compliance and prevent unauthorized access.
