Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to join Amazon Web Services (AWS) as an ADC Engineering Manager. You will lead a world-class technical team managing large-scale systems, collaborating with internal and external customers, and driving innovation in AWS's User Experience Products and Platforms (UXP2). This role emphasizes operational excellence, team development, and leveraging the DevOps model to create seamless operational workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership:
    • Recruit, build, mentor, and retain a high-performing DevOps engineering team.
    • Oversee daily team management tasks and foster a culture of growth and collaboration.
  • Operations Management:
    • Drive automation to simplify the operation of distributed systems at scale.
    • Conduct deep-dive troubleshooting exercises and lead technical post-mortem discussions.
  • Strategic Project Management:
    • Develop and execute roadmaps, incorporating innovative solutions to add value to existing services.
    • Manage project delivery using Agile methodologies, including Kanban and continuous delivery.
  • Customer Success:
    • Partner with internal and external customers to implement projects, resolve issues, and improve user experience.
    • Ensure the reliable performance of AWS services and systems.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or relevant certifications such as Cloud+, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in systems engineering, including networking, storage systems, and operating systems.
  • 2+ years as a Systems Engineering or Operations leader/manager.
  • Active Top Secret (TS) or higher U.S. Government Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of building and leading successful engineering teams.
  • Expertise in performance engineering, capacity planning, and systems engineering fundamentals.
  • Experience with deployment automation, monitoring, and capacity planning for distributed systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and train engineers while fostering a collaborative team culture.
  • Familiarity with AWS products and services, especially in government or commercial contexts.
  • Proficiency in Agile engineering practices and DevOps models.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation:

The base salary ranges from $142,100/year in the lowest geographic market to $245,600/year in the highest. Additional compensation may include equity, sign-on bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package.
