Job Summary:

Join one of Amazon Web Services' (AWS) fastest-growing teams as a Technical Account Manager (TAM), supporting Department of Defense (DoD) customers. This is a unique opportunity to act as a principal technical advisor and advocate for your customers' success while helping them innovate using AWS services such as EC2, S3, DynamoDB, Lambda, SageMaker, and more.

As a TAM, you will partner closely with customers to understand their technical challenges and provide strategic guidance to maximize their use of AWS. This is not a sales role, but rather a highly impactful position that blends technical expertise with customer advocacy. Your technical insights will empower customers to deploy scalable and secure cloud solutions effectively.

Travel Requirement: This position may require travel up to 10%.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary technical advisor for DoD customers, ensuring their AWS environments are secure, resilient, and operationally healthy.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to address incidents, manage trade-offs, and assess risks.
  • Help customers adopt and optimize AWS services across diverse domains, including Compute, Storage, Networking, Databases, Big Data, Machine Learning, and more.
  • Provide architectural guidance and best practices to help customers design scalable, cost-effective, and secure solutions.
  • Proactively engage with customers to identify opportunities for innovation and cost savings.
  • Advocate for customer needs internally within AWS and influence product roadmaps.
  • Lead technical discussions and workshops to enable knowledge sharing and skill development for customer teams.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of customer-facing experience in technical engineering or architecture roles, with hands-on expertise in Compute, Storage, Networking, DevOps, Databases, Security, or Application Development.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related discipline (or equivalent work experience of 3+ years).
  • Strong operational troubleshooting experience in distributed systems environments.
  • U.S. Citizenship with an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a technical account manager, consultant, solutions architect, cloud engineer, or similar role.
  • Advanced knowledge of cloud computing platforms, distributed systems, and DevOps best practices.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate and influence technical and business stakeholders.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with a focus on driving customer outcomes.

Compensation & Benefits:

AWS offers competitive compensation packages, including base pay, equity, sign-on bonuses, and a comprehensive range of benefits. The base pay for this role ranges from $118,200 to $204,300/year, depending on the geographic market and individual qualifications.
