As part of Deloitte’s Strategy & Analytics portfolio, you will join a dynamic team dedicated to solving mission-critical problems with cutting-edge technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Data Engineering. In this role, you will help design and build data pipelines that transform vast amounts of data into meaningful insights, driving critical decisions across government and public services.

What You'll Do

As a Data Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and design data pipelines to support end-to-end solutions, ensuring that data flows seamlessly from development to production.
  • Maintain and optimize data workflows with an emphasis on fault tolerance, redundancy, and efficient data access for multiple datasets.
  • Create and manage artifacts such as schemas, data dictionaries, and transformation processes related to ETL (Extract, Transform, Load).
  • Collaborate closely with the team to design and launch new features, ensuring that data flows and capabilities meet user needs.
  • Develop robust databases that provide multiple user groups with varying levels of access to both raw and processed data.
  • Work with data scientists and machine learning engineers to ensure data is structured in ways that support analytical models and AI pipelines.
  • Ensure adherence to data governance policies and practices to maintain consistency and quality across shared and master datasets.

The Team

The AI & Data Engineering (AI&DE) team at Deloitte focuses on developing advanced analytics products and applying data visualization, statistical programming, and machine learning techniques to enterprise data. We work across all phases of analytic product development, from identifying business questions to data collection, ETL, analysis, and delivering insights to decision-makers. Our team is at the forefront of transforming data into powerful decision-making tools to solve pressing issues for our government clients.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree (STEM-related field preferred such as Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, etc.)
  • Active TS/SCI Security Clearance
  • 2+ years experience with platforms like Docker, Kubernetes, JMS/SQS, SNS, Kafka, AWS Lambda, NiFi, Airflow, or similar tools.
  • Proficient experience with technologies such as JavaScript, Elasticsearch/Opensearch, JSON, SQL, XML.
  • 4+ years experience with datastores such as MongoDB, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, S3, Redshift, JDBC/ODBC, Redis, and graph databases (Neo4j, Memgraph).

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix server environments.
  • Knowledge of data structures required for machine learning packages like scikit-learn, nltk, and spaCy.
  • Interest in or experience with data structures for supporting Generative AI pipelines, such as vector databases, NER, and RAG.
