Duties

  • Lead the development, technical troubleshooting, and execution of facilities engineering projects.
  • Manage awarded contracts and ensure the successful completion of inspections.
  • Develop site plans, identify deficiencies, and prepare comprehensive Design/Build scopes of work, cost estimates, and related documentation for contract solicitation.
  • Perform structural calculations and analysis for engineering projects.

Employment Requirements

  • Citizenship: U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Federal Suitability: Must meet suitability standards for federal employment.
  • Direct Deposit: Participation in the direct deposit program is mandatory.
  • Security Clearance: Must obtain and maintain the required clearance; failure to do so may result in withdrawal of job offer.
  • Physical Exam: Completion of a pre-appointment physical examination is required.
  • Selective Service: Male applicants born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with Selective Service.
  • DAWIA Certification: Compliance with Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act requirements is mandatory.

Qualifications

Experience:
Applicants must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (e.g., GS-11). Examples include:

  1. Assisting in project management tasks for facilities projects such as inspections, design, construction management, and technical studies.
  2. Supporting the preparation of design documents and technical reports for diverse projects such as airfield pavement, jet engine test cells, and corrosion protection systems.
  3. Conducting structural calculations and contributing to the development of construction or repair initiatives.
  4. Providing estimates for project scope, schedules, and costs.
  5. Collaborating in meetings with stakeholders to address project-related issues.

Education:
A bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program or a related qualification with relevant coursework is required. A combination of education and professional experience may also meet eligibility criteria.
