Job Description:

SAIC is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Principal Launch Integration Engineer to provide mission-critical integration services for the U.S. Space Force. This role supports the Space Domain Awareness and Combat Power (SDA&CP) Directorate, guiding National Security Space missions from initial planning through successful orbit delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Mission Integration and Launch Support:

    • Collaborate with government mission managers to execute the launch mission integration process.
    • Manage all launch phases, including planning meetings, operations, and Day-of-Launch activities.
  2. Leadership and Team Management:

    • Direct mission working groups, including integration, ground operations, flight operations, trailblazer planning, and launch execution.
    • Lead and manage a team of launch integration engineers.
  3. Technical Oversight:

    • Develop and oversee satellite-to-launch vehicle interface requirements.
    • Evaluate and review mission-critical documentation, including IRDs, ICDs, and launch base requirements.
  4. Program Support:

    • Prepare and deliver key documentation for Launch Readiness Reviews.
    • Guide the development of schedules, program reviews, rehearsals, and daily status reports.
    • Create contractor statements of work (SOWs) and conduct technical evaluations of proposals.
  5. Requirements Tracking and Reporting:

    • Manage requirements verification documentation throughout the launch campaign.
    • Provide detailed technical assessments and presentations for senior leadership reviews.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 14+ years of experience or Master’s Degree with 12+ years of experience (additional 4 years of relevant experience may substitute for degree).
  • Minimum of 9 years of space launch experience.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with willingness to consent to a polygraph.

Technical Expertise:

  • Strong knowledge of satellite systems engineering, design, integration, and testing.
  • Comprehensive understanding of mission integration processes, including mechanical and electrical interfaces, mission analysis, environmental conditions, ground operations, transportation, and readiness.

Collaboration Skills:

  • Proven ability to work effectively with government agencies, mission partners, and multi-disciplinary teams to achieve integrated solutions.

Target Salary Range:

$160,001 - $200,000 (based on experience and qualifications).
