Job Overview:

SAIC is seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to support its USTRANSCOM Managed Information Technology Services (MITS) contract, which provides strategic and technical support to modernize and enhance the infrastructure, systems, and applications for USTRANSCOM’s Command, Control, Communications & Cyber Systems Directorate (TCJ6). The Cloud Architect will lead the design, migration, integration, and operation of cloud solutions, ensuring adherence to security and operational best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cloud Architecture Leadership: Provide technical leadership in designing and implementing commercial cloud solutions focused on security, scalability, and resiliency for complex environments.
  • Cloud Migration & Integration: Plan, design, and manage the migration and re-platforming of applications and systems to cloud platforms. Ensure efficient integration with existing IT environments.
  • Security and Compliance: Oversee security processes, ensuring cloud solutions comply with DoD Cloud Computing policies and guidelines.
  • Cloud Service Recommendations: Advise on cloud service provider selection, cloud architecture, deployment models (public, private, hybrid), and capacity planning.
  • Testing & Evaluation: Conduct testing and evaluation of cloud-based and virtualized systems, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Systems Engineering: Contribute to systems engineering activities, including system analysis, design, integration, and validation.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to define strategic objectives and ensure successful program execution.
  • Client Consultation: Serve as the lead advisor to management and customers, making recommendations for complex projects and providing expert guidance on technical research.

Work Hours: Monday through Friday, standard business hours. After-hours and weekend support may be required during planned or emergency events.

Required Education & Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • BA/BS degree.
  • Experience:
    • 10+ years of experience in cloud architecture, design, and deployment.
  • Clearance:
    • Active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Certifications:
    • IAT Level III certifications, such as:
      • CASP+ CE,
      • CCNP Security,
      • CISA,
      • CISSP (or Associate),
      • GCED,
      • GCIH.
    • Computing Environment (CE) certification in Cloud/virtualization (e.g., Azure, AWS, Oracle, IBM), with a preference for Azure.
  • Skills & Experience:
    • Expertise in Azure commercial cloud services and experience in cloud solutions architecture.
    • Proven track record in AWS, Networking, VPNs, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, Active Directory, and Azure Active Directory.
    • Experience in cloud-related tools like Git, Jenkins, AWS security capabilities (WAF, GuardDuty, IAM).
    • Knowledge of Zero Trust architectures and IT Service Management (ITSM) tools.
    • Experience in VDI solutions deployment to AWS Cloud.

Target Salary Range:

$120,001 - $160,000 (depending on experience and other factors).

Covid Policy:

SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters, but customer site-specific vaccination requirements must be followed when working at customer locations.
