Job Overview:

SAIC is seeking a Windows Systems Administrator to support the Army Research Laboratory (ARL) Information Technology Modernization program. This position will be responsible for providing Enterprise IT services to ARL’s diverse and highly mobile workforce. The administrator will be responsible for the maintenance, support, and upgrades of complex operating systems, workstations, and servers to ensure the seamless functioning of ARL’s cutting-edge research mission. The position is contingent upon contract award, expected in fall/winter 2024.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Maintenance & Support:

    • Perform day-to-day operational maintenance and support of Windows systems (workstations and servers).
    • Oversee software installations and upgrades to operating systems and software packages.
    • Ensure system performance optimization by monitoring and tuning multiple systems.
    • Implement solutions for data integrity and backup management.
  • System Modernization:

    • Plan and implement server modernization strategies to meet evolving needs.
    • Develop and implement new standard operating procedures (SOPs) and system maintenance schedules.
  • Audits & Compliance:

    • Conduct hardware and software audits to ensure compliance with ARL standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
    • Develop policies and procedures for improved system performance and security.
  • Collaboration:

    • Work closely with Network and Systems Analysts to develop systems and ensure smooth implementation.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and zero (0) years of related experience.
  • Security Clearance:

    • Must possess an active Top Secret clearance.
  • Certification:

    • Must have a Security+ certification or be able to obtain it.

Target Salary Range:

$40,001 - $80,000
(Estimate based on experience and other factors)
