About the Role:
As a Data Center Technician, you will be a key problem-solver for your support team, troubleshooting infrastructure and operating system issues. You will:

  • Diagnose and resolve all but the most complex infrastructure problems, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Create and maintain documentation on technologies and develop SOPs for junior staff.
  • Independently execute small projects and collaborate on larger initiatives.
  • Act as an escalation point for junior technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a deep understanding of the equipment you support.
  • Innovate and make independent decisions while following given directions meticulously.
  • Adapt to rotating shifts, including 3, 4, or 5-day/night workweeks, based on business needs.
  • Travel up to 10% as required.

This role requires U.S. citizenship and an active Top Secret security clearance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or higher in an IT-related field, applicable certifications, or equivalent professional/military experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in computer hardware and technical troubleshooting.
  • U.S. citizenship and an active Top Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Networking experience with CCNA and/or Network+ certifications.
  • Experience with CISCO, Juniper, and other commodity networking devices.
  • Hands-on experience in a data center environment, including racking, stacking equipment, and cable management.

Technical Expertise:

  • IT Hardware: RAID, SAN, x86 Architecture, SCSI.
  • Linux Administration: CLI, Boot Process, GRUB/LILO, File Systems, Network Configuration, Directory Structure, Core OS Services (ssh, telnet, ftp, etc.).
  • Scripting: Proficiency in Perl, Python, Bash.
  • Networking: OSI Model, Protocols, Copper and Fiber Optic Testing, Cabling Standards.
