Job Overview

The U.S. Department of Defense is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to serve as an Army Reserve Administrator. This critical role supports the administrative and operational functions of the U.S. Army Reserve (USAR) by providing guidance, coordination, and management to ensure the readiness and effectiveness of the organization. This position requires active membership in the U.S. Army Reserve and offers an opportunity to contribute to national defense while advancing your administrative expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily administrative duties to support organizational readiness programs.
  • Guide regulatory changes and organizational directives.
  • Utilize automated systems to identify and address financial management deficiencies.
  • Maintain and analyze inventory records using account reporting systems.
  • Coordinate training programs for personnel in line with organizational goals.
  • Manage the organization's travel program.
  • Offer pay guidance and support to personnel.

Qualifications

To qualify, applicants must meet one of the employment authority categories and demonstrate the following qualifications:

Specialized Experience

  • At least one year of specialized experience in administrative support in areas such as training, medical readiness, personnel actions, financial actions, supply, or logistics.
  • Proven ability to coordinate logistical and training support within an organization.
  • Experience preparing written correspondence for internal communication.

Education (as an alternative to experience)

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Strategic Management, Organizational Design and Development, or a related field.
  • OR a combination of education and experience meeting the qualification standards.

Additional Requirements

  • Active membership as a Soldier in the U.S. Army Reserve is mandatory.
  • Successful completion of the Unit Administrator Basic Course and Unit Pay Administrator Course within 18 months of appointment.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and on varying shifts as needed.

  • Appointment may require a suitability determination based on a background investigation.
