Job Overview

SAIC is seeking a Solution Architect to provide systems engineering, mission architecting, and analysis support to the Space Systems Command (SSC) within the Space Domain Awareness and Combat Power (SSC/SZ) and Battle Management, Command, Control, and Communication (SSC/BC) directorates. These directorates are responsible for the planning, development, testing, deployment, integration, and sustainment of space control capabilities, focusing on counter space operations like Orbital Warfare, Electromagnetic Warfare, and Cyber Space Warfare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mission Engineering Leadership: Provide advice on mission engineering strategies for System-of-Systems (SoS) architectures, and deliver strategic messaging to key operational and government stakeholders.
  • Systems Engineering and Mission Architecting: Lead systems engineering and mission architecting efforts, ensuring technical requirements generation and compliance.
  • Space Systems Review: Conduct technical reviews and assessments of space systems, performing risk assessments as needed.
  • Architecture Development: Identify critical activities and functions for mission thread development, model both as-is and to-be functional and physical architectures, and ensure that mission objectives are met.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 9+ years of experience in:
    • Systems Engineering and Architecting
    • Military Space Operations, particularly in Space Control
    • Experience with SSC FIELDCOM, HQ USSF, and other USSF, DoD, or IC organizations
  • Must have an in-scope security background investigation (T5 or SSBI), be adjudicated for SCI eligibility, and be enrolled in the Continuous Evaluation program (if applicable).
  • Must be willing to be nominated for access to Sensitive Compartment Information (SCI) and Special Access Programs (SAP), and undergo a Polygraph examination.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree with 7+ years of experience.
  • Experience in a development environment or working with U.S. Government weapons system program offices.
  • Professional certification (e.g., Professional Engineer (PE), INCOSE CSEP).
  • Knowledge of digital engineering and operational analysis processes and their use in producing data-driven analysis.

Compensation

The target salary range for this position is $120,001 - $160,000, based on experience and other relevant factors.

Covid Policy

SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. However, customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when working at customer locations.
