Job Overview

SAIC is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to join our Enterprise Systems Engineering and Architecture team. This position supports the Signals Intelligence enterprise within a government intelligence agency customer. The selected candidate will collaborate with various government organizations, providing high-quality engineering advisory services, systems planning, integration, and architecture. They will play a key role in engineering across the customer's enterprise, ensuring technical integrity, quality, and completeness of deliverables throughout the system lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Systems Engineering Support:

    • Engage with government stakeholders to define and analyze requirements for various systems.
    • Support the architectural design, integration, and implementation of systems, ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with customer goals.
    • Contribute to verification, validation, transition, and operational phases of system lifecycles.
  • Project and Risk Management:

    • Lead project planning, assessment, and control processes, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
    • Perform risk management and decision management to mitigate potential issues and maintain project success.
    • Assist in configuration management, information management, and quality assurance to ensure project standards are met.
  • Portfolio and Lifecycle Management:

    • Participate in project portfolio management, infrastructure management, and lifecycle model management to optimize system effectiveness.
    • Contribute to measurement planning and ongoing system assessments.

Qualifications

Required:

  • TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 14+ years of experience; OR Master's degree and 12+ years; OR PhD/JD and 9+ years. (A Master’s or PhD can substitute for 2 years of experience).
  • A full-time position requiring 1880 hours of support per year.

Desired:

  • Experience with Unified Architectural Framework (UAF) or DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) models and artifacts. Experience with Cameo or IBM Systems Architect is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with customer systems and processes is a plus but not essential.
  • Experience with network security accreditation/RMF, system security plans, and POAM management is valued.
  • Current DODD 8570 Certification (e.g., Security+) is preferred.

Compensation

The target salary range for this position is between $160,001 - $200,000, based on experience and other factors.
