Senior Software Engineer Job Category: Information Technology Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: TS/SCI with Polygraph Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: None Type of Travel: None * * * The Opportunity: We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Senior Software Engineer with extensive experience in software engineering to join our dynamic team. This role involves maintaining and upgrading existing web servers that are critical to the organization's operations, while also contributing to new development initiatives. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, are comfortable with complex technical challenges, and enjoy working with both new and legacy systems, we encourage you to apply. Responsibilities: You will maintain and manage current web servers, such as Maxwell and Math Depot, built using Twiki, Apache, and PHP. Assist in migrating existing web server instances from outdated Linux OS versions to newer ones. Ensure web servers remain functional during upgrades and transition processes, particularly with CASPORT authorization. You wil collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new solutions and improve existing web architectures. Qualifications: Required: * 7+ years of experience as a Software Engineer (SWE), working on programs of similar scope, complexity, and type.
* A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution. (Note: 4 years of additional SWE experience may be substituted for the degree.)
* At least 5 years of recent experience developing in JavaScript.
* A minimum of 3 years of experience developing software in Linux, Windows, or Mac OS environments.
* Proficiency in MS SQL, Express.js, React.js, Node.js, and GIT for version control and collaboration. Desired: * Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements and project directions.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
