Duties:

  • Provide direct assistance to the commander/director in managing all administrative support program functions.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for all mandatory administrative support programs.
  • Act as the liaison between the organization and the personnel flight regarding military and civilian personnel matters.
  • Aid in the planning, administration, and monitoring of manpower resource needs.
  • Perform additional clerical and administrative duties to support the office/organization.

Requirements/Conditions of Employment:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Males must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance.
  • If authorized, PCS will be paid in accordance with JTR and Air Force Regulations. Completion of a CONUS agreement may be required for PCS eligibility. Additional details can be found.
  • This position is subject to the provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program.
  • Leave accrual may be authorized upon request. Superior qualifications will be considered.
  • Occasional travel on military or commercial aircraft may be required.

Qualifications:

Specialized Experience:

  • Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-6, or its equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of relevant experience include:
    • Assisting supervisors and staff in planning and organizing management programs and organizational functions.
    • Experience with administrative support programs such as cyber security liaison, Government Travel Card (GTC) program, Defense Travel Systems (DTS) administration, and various personnel programs.
    • Familiarity with office automation software programs to support office operations.
    • Ability to follow up on commitments, collect, organize, and compile data to recommend actions to supervisors.

Federal Time-in-Grade (TIG) Requirement:

  • Applicants must meet the applicable time-in-grade requirements for the GS-7 level, which requires one year at the GS-6 level (or equivalent).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  1. Knowledge of the organizational structure, functions, and responsibilities within an office or organization.
  2. Proficiency in various office automation software programs and tools, with the ability to create documents, reports, spreadsheets, and databases.
  3. Understanding of personnel and staffing issues and the related programs within an organization.
  4. Problem-solving skills to resolve issues and develop action plans.
  5. Strong communication skills, including the ability to present facts clearly, plan and organize work, and meet deadlines.
  6. Ability to plan, coordinate, and organize management programs and organizational functions.

  • Part-time or unpaid work experience, including volunteer service, may be credited towards the qualifications.
  • Veterans’ preference will be considered in the hiring process.
