Job Overview

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for highly skilled and technically adept Senior Technical Consultants to join our Professional Services team, focusing on delivering innovative cloud computing solutions to U.S. Intelligence Community (IC) agencies. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud technologies, provide consultative leadership, and solve complex technical problems for critical government agencies.

In this role, you will leverage your expertise in system design, architecture, and cloud security to guide IC agencies through the implementation of scalable, secure, and efficient cloud solutions using AWS services. You will be instrumental in helping these agencies transition to the cloud while ensuring that all solutions meet rigorous security standards.

This position requires active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph and the ability to work closely with government customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consultative Leadership: Lead and advise Intelligence Community customers on cloud computing best practices, AWS solutions, and technical implementations. Guide customers through cloud architecture, integration, and security requirements.
  • Solution Design: Design, architect, and implement large-scale, distributed, serverless solutions on AWS. Collaborate with customers to tailor solutions to their unique business and technical needs.
  • Technical Expertise: Conduct deep-dive technical sessions with customers, exploring complex problems and presenting innovative solutions that drive their success.
  • Cloud Security: Apply a deep understanding of security best practices and federal government security requirements such as ICD 503, FISMA, and FedRAMP to cloud solutions.
  • Customer Training & Education: Educate customers on cloud technologies, AWS services, and security protocols through workshops, trainings, and hands-on demonstrations.
  • Collaboration & Innovation: Work across AWS teams, including engineering and product teams, to deliver the right solutions and drive innovation based on customer needs and feedback.
  • On-Site Engagement: Regularly visit customer sites to understand their challenges and provide hands-on support and consultation.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 7+ years of professional or military experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in consulting, design, and implementation of distributed, serverless cloud solutions.
  • 3+ years of software development experience using object-oriented programming languages.
  • Active U.S. Government Security Clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking.
  • Experience in technology/software sales consulting or equivalent skills in customer-facing roles.
  • Professional experience architecting, deploying, and operating AWS-based solutions.
  • Experience migrating legacy systems to cloud environments.
  • Experience in managing highly available data center operations, including networking, server hardware, and storage.
  • Strong knowledge of federal government security standards (ICD 503, FISMA, FedRAMP).
